Province 7 observes Democracy Day

Kailali, Feb 19 (RSS): Chief Minister of Province 7, Trilochan Bhatta, has said martyrs had sacrificed their lives for the rights of people.
Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the 68th Democracy Day today, the Chief Minister said the country had a glorious history of various movements and a long struggle launched for the rights of people.
The promulgation of new constitution was meant for materialising martyrs’ dream, according to him. People’s long expectation of bringing the constitution on their own had finally come true.
Good governance, corruption control and bringing the marginalized community to mainstream of development were the main responsibilities of province governments, he added.
Province Speaker Arjun Bahadur Thapa viewed that time had come to undertake an economic revolution to achieve nation’s prosperity in the aftermath of political revolutions.
Province 7 deputy speaker, Province lawmakers, deputy speaker, senior officials of various ministries, police chief and media persons attended the function held at the Office of Council of Ministers and Chief Minister.
